<p>African Bushdream completed the Field Guide (NQF2) Course through Bushveld Experience Skills &amp; Training (BEST) in 2022. This was an amazing experience bringing us closer to nature. The course was a one year part-time course with theory and practical components. We covered a variety of topics including grasses, trees, wildflowers, veld management, animal behaviour, mammals, signs of the veld plus many more interesting topics. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="314" height="160" src="https://africanbushdream.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/image002.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-114" srcset="https://africanbushdream.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/image002.jpg 314w, https://africanbushdream.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/image002-300x153.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 314px) 100vw, 314px" /></figure>

<p>We did a few optional modules during the year including Level 1 First Aid through Provisio Training College. It is a requirement of the NQF2 to have this qualification as possible bee stings, snake bites, scorpion bites and the like are very real things when out in the bush.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img decoding="async" width="500" height="193" src="https://africanbushdream.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Proviso-Training-College-Sticky-Logo500px.png" alt="" class="wp-image-115" style="width:309px;height:auto" srcset="https://africanbushdream.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Proviso-Training-College-Sticky-Logo500px.png 500w, https://africanbushdream.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Proviso-Training-College-Sticky-Logo500px-300x116.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px" /></figure>

<p>BEST brings the best of the best in each area of interest. Tracks and Signs was taught be the legend Bennet de Klerk who also offers his own bush courses called Motsumi Bush Courses. </p>

<p>Knowledge on grasses was brought to us by the grass king, Fritz van Oudtshoorn. Fritz has grasses book as well as a grasses app that brings a wealth of knowledge on the the subject.</p>
